It brings me joy to write when I am flying (I’m headed to Croatia this time). It seemed fitting to write about traveling while was in the sky. As you may already know, it is my dream to travel around the world, documenting my experiences and my perspectives on life. My dear travel blog seeks to capture this wonderful journey. Here I am once again, struggling to contain my excitement as I approach yet another new adventure, in a new country.
I cannot help but recollect some of the amazing adventures I have had over the past few weeks in the Netherlands. Spring has proved to be a great season for exploring. I experience an almost other-worldly joy when adventuring. Leaving the environment I am used to and venturing into the unknown brings me immense happiness. I enjoy breaking my routine and doing something unexpected as much as possible. Sometimes, you just have to say yes to adventure and go with the flow.

I find that my most memorable experiences were never planned. I simply said YES and went for it. This was exactly how Erik and I ended up biking to Zandvoort Beach from Amsterdam. Unexpectedly, we were gifted with an extremely warm day at the end of March; we took this chance to cycle to the beach. The 30km bike ride took us through Zuid-Kennemerland National Park. I had never planned to visit and yet, I was there. To me, the joy of exploring is seeing things you never expected.
Zandvoort Beach
Everyone was out on the beach, basking in the sun. I made full use of each and every sunny day; they were rare in the Netherlands. We sat in the sun, enjoying our apples and gazing into the horizon. The fact that I could take the day off and head to the beach made me happy. I made my own schedule in university and I was free to explore whenever I wanted. I never liked staying in one place for too long; there was simply too much of the world to see.
Haarlem

Erik and I were on a spontaneous adventure (the best kind). My legs were spent from all the cycling but we decided to visit the neighbouring city of Haarlem since we were close by. Some people push themselves in their studies and others in the sports they play. I push myself to see as much of the world as I possibly can. We biked around the city, taking it all in. I see myself as an explorer; the world is huge and I want to see all of it.
Exploring allows me to express my autonomy like no other activity. It is just you and the open road. You get to go wherever you like and do whatever you like. Is that not liberating? The coronavirus pandemic has messed up my plans a little but I still have hope for the world. I just want to be free. I want to live before I die. Freedom is one of the most important aspects of the human existence and I intend to embrace it to the fullest.
Here we are, biking through the city, just enjoying life. All you need is a set of wheels and you can basically go wherever you like. Life is all about the journey and I must say, what a sweet journey it is. I apologise if this post feels a little unstructured. Sometimes I just want to pen down my thoughts and write with no clear aim in mind. It helps me declutter my mind and learn more about myself.
So, this is me and I am free. Hope you learned a little more about me from this piece. Remember to tune in to my adventures in Croatia, which will be out soon. Do subscribe down below and have a great day ahead!
